This Privacy Policy explains how lyrics-mcp (the "Service") handles information when you use it. The Service is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets an AI assistant search for and retrieve song lyrics from the LRCLIB catalog.

1. Information we process

The Service is stateless and read-only. When you call one of its tools, it processes only the parameters needed to fulfill that request, such as:

• Song titles, artist names, and album names you search for.
• Free-text queries or track identifiers you provide.

We do not collect names, email addresses, account credentials, payment information, or any other personal information through the Service. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.

2. How information is used

The parameters you provide are used solely to query the LRCLIB API and return matching tracks and lyrics back to your assistant. We do not build user profiles, run advertising, or sell or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data storage and retention

lyrics-mcp does not maintain a database of users or queries. Search terms are processed in memory to serve your request and are not persisted by the Service. Standard, short-lived server and infrastructure logs (for example, request metadata used for security and reliability) may be generated by the hosting provider and are retained only as long as needed for operational purposes.

4. Third-party services

To return lyrics, the Service sends your search terms to LRCLIB, an independent, open lyrics database. Your use of lyrics data is subject to LRCLIB's own terms and policies. All lyrics and track metadata are owned by their respective rights holders; lyrics-mcp does not host or own this content.

The Service is also delivered through a hosting/infrastructure provider that processes network requests on our behalf to operate the Service.

5. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

6. Security

Requests to the Service are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Because the Service stores no personal data, the risk associated with data retention is minimal.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
